What does Signer do?
Signer does not act like a usual wallet – it does not show account balances, nor it allows for sending transactions directly from the interface. Transactions can only be conducted if they are happening in a connected app or directly on the web wallet. It is a way to sign blockchain transactions initiated by web apps, with a simple interface that makes using Web3 applications easier.
