Building and running from source [advanced]

This section is intended for power users who are sure what they are doing: it is not recommended by default.

When choosing to build the binary from source you will need to manually perform some of the setup done by the Aleph Node Runner scripts. In the following sections we will guide you through:

• obtaining the repository

• building a binary

• downloading the database snapshot and the chainspec

• running the binary with appropriate arguments.
